28/07/2010 Castro and his debut as captain: «It was unforgettable»
Trained at FC Porto, Castro has currently the opportunity of staying within FC Porto’s senior squad, a prospect that he most certainly doesn’t want to discard. He made his debut as captain on Sunday, before roughly 40,000 spectators, a moment which he described as being unforgettable.
During this Wednesday’s superflash, held during the morning on the lawn of the PortoGaia training grounds, the midfielder also took the opportunity to acknowledge the support of the club’s members, promising that the team will not disappoint them.

"In relation to last season, I cannot make any observations because I was not present; nevertheless I can declare that the team’s overall feeling is one of great ambition. All those part of FC Porto aim to be champions, succeeding in all the competitions in which we participate. A dream come true
"It was an unforgettable moment [referring to his debut as captain of FC Porto]; I even felt like crying. I had dreamed all my life for a moment like that and it was overwhelming, particularly because there were 40 000 spectators at the stadium. Incidentally, I would like to take the opportunity to thank the club’s members for the fact that in merely two games, we had 80 000 people at the stadium. It‘s an indication that club’s supporters are in fact behind the team and we will not disappoint them."
Building a good team for the entire season
