André Villas-Boas: «Brilliant performance»

At the end of the match with Sampdoria, which FC Porto won by 2-1, André Villas-Boas confirmed that he was very pleased with his team’s performance, stressing the team’s ball possession and speed. He only regretted some missed opportunities, but stressed that he’s not obsessed with knock-out scores.

Growing
«We continue the developing process. It was a brilliant performance, with endless goal-scoring opportunities. It was only a pity that we weren’t able to score more goals in yet another positive display. »

Superior build-up
"We want to continue to bet in this approach of playing. The team is still undergoing a development process with the aim of attaining a superior level, especially since the Uruguayan players involved in the World Cup are still joining the team. »

Ball possession and speed
"We were close to the goal, constantly looking to score, maintaining possession and speed, but there are games as such. The greater the goal advantage, the better, but we are not obsessed by knock-out scores, only by implementing new techniques for this team. "

Souza prominent
"Against Ajax, Souza stood out in an eight position, the same as in this game, but is also an option to play as a ‘six’»
