30/08/2012 "This year, I'm expecting a great quality match"
Vítor Pereira is expecting a competitive and aggressive Olhanense, but also an FC Porto "similar or better" than the one who beat Guimarães. As for the transfers market, the coach asks only one thing, that everyone stay focused on the objectives of the club. The Dragons face the men from Algarve next Saturday, at 20h30.
What are you expecting for the game against Olhanense?
"We are expecting a very competitive Olhanense, with aggression, well set game ideas, but what I am truly expecting is that my team plays at the same level, or better, of the last game. If that happens, it will be easy to get the three points."
How do you feel about playing in Estádio do Algarve?
"By what I’ve seen of our opponent, their pitch doesn’t seem to be in the best of conditions. If Estádio do Algarve is in better shape, it will be good for the quality of the match, for us and for Olhanense."
This will be your 50th game as coach of FC Porto, does it have a special feeling?
"There’s no special feeling, it’s 50 games, but they are all different. I have plenty of work ahead, always trying to reach a higher level of expectations, a higher game quality. I rarely feel satisfied as the expectations are high, but this year I’m hoping to present a quality game level."
With the market closing, do you fear that it will have some influence in the players’ performance?
"We are always interested in quality players. As for the market, what I want is that those who stay are focused on the team’s objectives. I want to be sure that their minds are here, that they are focused, with will to conquer, with ambition and motivation to fight for our objectives. I worked unconcerned about the market, without thinking of players coming in or leaving, I’m counting on everyone and Saturday will be a good opportunity to prove that the market has no influence in our performances. I’ve been seeing the players working well, with quality, motivation, and that is the team I’m expecting on Saturday, against Olhanense." |
