12/08/2012 “Jackson did what is expected from a striker”
After winning the 19th Supercup, the fourth in a row, Vítor Pereira spoke of a “fair” victory, of a worthy opponent and of a “cohesive” team, FC Porto, ending yet another game without conceding. On Jackson Martínez, the scorer of the decisive goal, highlights were given to the sense of opportunity and to the work rate of the Colombian. Traits that can be improved, the coach added.
Vítor Pereira and the team’s “cohesion” “We had good moments, but in the end of the first-half we stopped doing our characteristic game of ball possession. We came back in well and, for what we’ve done, I believe it was a fair result, before an opponent that valued the game and the show. It was another game where we conceded no goals. We are, as you can see, a cohesive team. Jackson’s goals will come naturally, he is a great player, who will help us grow. He worked hard and, in good timing, scored one. That is what you ask of a striker.”
Jackson Martínez: “It was difficult…” “It was difficult to get the ball in the net. Académica was a difficult opponent, who made our work hard. Now we have to enjoy the victory and continue to work to grow. I believe FC Porto will be stronger in the league.” |
