26/08/2010 Fernando: «The goal is to win every game»
This Wednesday, the Brazilian player Fernando, gave his views on the second-leg of the UEFA Europa League play-offs against Genk (Thursday, 20h30), having agreed with what FC Porto’s coach André Villas-Boas had previously mentioned: despite the strong result conquered in Belgium, the team’s objective is to win yet again.
Positive thinking «At FC Porto, the overall aim is to always win our matches. Even though we lead by 3-0 from the first-leg, the objective still stands: winning. It is with this in mind that we will go into the match.»
More freedom on the field «If the coach placed me as a forward or midfielder, I would play. He instructs us on how to play and I’m always eager to give my best regardless of the position played. Every coach has the right to demand responsibility for our actions and should I ever proceed wrongly, of course I will be blamed and must own up to my actions.»
Hulk in the Brazil team «I congratulated Hulk because he is doing a great job. I will continue to work at FC Porto as I always have and with any luck, I believe that one day I will also have my chance.» |
