It came as no surprise that the first signs of danger belonged to the white and blues, with Pedro Gil and Caio coming close to score. The first goal would appear 10 minutes in, with Caio using a misunderstanding between André Azevedo and Tó Silva and moving up the field to score. 1-0.
Shortly after, FC Porto shifted into high gear, when Suissas and Filipe Santos came into the match. 18 minutes in, when every player, with the exception of the goalkeeper Edo Bosch, had been replaced, Pedro Gil scored, making it 2-0, with a violent shot. 24 minutes in, Caio scored again, striking from middle range. Before half-time, Tiago Santos shot a ball to the post.
In the second time, the first highlight goes to Edo Bosch, who had already saved a penalty at five minutes and a direct free hit by Tó Silva at 30 minutes. One minute later, in a counter attack, Tó Silva made the game 3-1 and Porto played with more caution. Still, Pedro Gil and Caio had opportunities to score from direct free hits. 38 minutes in, Pedro Gil saw a blue card, but FC Porto resisted being outnumbered without conceding goals.
Tó Silva, 40 minutes in, had a new direct free hit, but Edo Bosch saved it. 5 minutes to the end of the game, the score moved again, for the final time, with a direct free hit by Reinaldo Ventura, resulting from the 15th foul by Oliveirense. The forward made the hit impossible to save.
In the end of the match, Tó Neves stated he was happy for winning the first trophy as coach of FC Porto: “The commitment of the players was irreprehensible. During the first time, we played with a very high intensity for this time of the season. Now, the hard part will be maintaining that intensity. On the second time, we were slower on the offense and controlled the advantage obtained. Overall, it was a fair victory, and the better team won.”
