Beijing: Parente in the pole position
 Álvaro Parente will start from the pole position for the eleventh round of the Superleague Formula, taking place in Beijing (China) in the early hours of this Sunday morning. The FC Porto pilot, who returns to the competition after missing out on the last race in Ordos, rapidly increased his pace in this street race, having achieved the best qualifying time, holding the record of 1:05.287, thus beating Spurs by more than two tenths of a second.
"I had half an hour to train, to get a feel for the car and get to know the
track, which is imperative. Furthermore, we swiftly fine-tuned the car, allowing it to be particularly fast as of the first moment. Even so, we slightly adjusted the setup and that worked out very well. It is the type of track that I like, I have always enjoyed street circuits, and this race seems to have everything to make it one of my favourites. I'm in the best possible position for tomorrow and I will try to impose a fast pace right from the start», summed Alvaro Parente. |
