25/10/2010 Navarra: FC Porto ends championship with another win
FC Porto closed the Superleague Formula season with another victory, with Alvaro Parente having been ranked first in the second race of the Spanish Navarra race. The FC Porto driver once again showed his competency, seeing that he started off in12th place and managed to overtake all the cars ahead of him.
After reaching seventh position in the qualifying round, Parente reached eighth position in this round’s morning race, after a tough struggle with AC Milan and the awareness that the untimely wearing out of the tires could have limited the final scores.
In the afternoon, however, the FC Porto car turned out to be the most impressive, thanks to an incredible improvement that only ended on the highest spot of the podium and the third success of the year.
The weekend could have even turned out to be more positive with a good performance in the super-final, but due an exaggeration by a fellow opponent, Parente only managed to close the third race in sixth place. "You could say that the weekend was a good overall depiction of the whole season. An average opening race, a very good second race and a poor last race. We experienced tyre problems and Esteban (Guerrieri) made a very bold manoeuvre, and in order to avoid contact, I ended up going slightly off the track. ", summarized Alvaro Parente.
