Misfortune spoils race in Zolder
 Misfortune thwarted FC Porto’s performance in one of the Superleague Formula’s rounds. In the sixth round of the competition, held at Zolder, Alvaro Parente finished the first race in the 11th spot and even took second place in the second race, but was regrettably let down for mechanical reasons, at a time when the points required for entering the Super Final were indeed sufficient.
"We didn’t race much this weekend because of problems in free practice, which led to poor qualifications and we therefore we weren’t able to manage a good setup. Hence, we bet everything on Race 2, having saved, for the first time this season, two sets of new tires, which worked. If we had initially raced, that would’ve been perfect, but we were on the podium and subsequently the car broke down. We had a system pressure problem that caused a failure, a common malfunction in this car. » summed Alvaro Parente. |
