Varela debuted on the national team
 Nine international players from FC Porto were in action this Wednesday, in the teams of Portugal (AA and under-23), Uruguay and Gana. The highlight goes for the premiere of Varela in the main Portuguese team, as the winger came on 62 minutes of the game against China (2-0), in Coimbra.
At this preparation game for the World Cup in 2010 participated more three players of the Dragons: Bruno Alves, Rolando and Raul Meireles having the last two lined up during the 90 minutes.

Portugal – Wales (under-23), 7-2
