By the end of 2006, Futebol Clube do Porto decided to move on to an ambitious process, which had never been seen anywhere in the world: the implementation of a Quality and Environmental Management System in Estádio do Dragão. The compromise was assumed publicly, FC Porto would base its practices on high standards of quality and performance, assuming the responsibility of being one of the biggest clubs in Europe. The club reinforces its position of having a responsible organization, committed to sustained development.

In 2007, on the fourth anniversary of Estádio do Dragão, PortoEstádio obtained the Quality and Environmental integrated certification, according to standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, becoming, once again, a reference in its field of activity. Currently, the management of Estádio do Dragão is replicated in any facilities where Futebol Clube do Porto is present. In 2010, the Escolas Dragon Force obtained the Quality certificate for management and operation of football schools. Dragon Force became an even more unique project, for what it stands for and for the quality required.

FC Porto Quality and Environmental System Operational

The methodology of PortoEstádio is based in a set of rules and procedures designed in accordance with the directives of its Quality and Environmental Policy, described in the Guide for Proper Environmental Actions. These guide lines, which are intended to be communicated and followed by the entire universe of Futebol Clube do Porto, reflect our concern with a planet with increasingly short resources.

Despite the fact that only in 2007 did the organization publicly state its concerns about the environment, the subject was already a case of study even before Estádio do Dragão was built. Proof of that are the awards won and the international praise at the infrastructure.
