A fullback with future
Born in 1999 (18 years old), Diogo Dalot is seen as a player of great future, a modern fullback, with an appetite for the attack, in a constant back and forth between both ends of the pitch. The fact that he is already part of the main squad – even if he does play and train often in the B team, for whom he debut in January, 2017 – are proof of that potential. In fact, on September, 2015, then aged 16, he participated in a training session with the main team.

Dalot can play further up on the pitch, but he doesn’t forget about his defensive duty, showing good capacity to read the match and focus when there’s a need to close the centre. Born in Braga, he joined FC Porto in 2008, and has already been a junior national champion, in 2015/16. For the national squads, he won the Under-17 European Championship, in Azerbaijan, in 2016, scoring two goals in the five matches he played, being appointed to the ideal team of the competition. On that same year, he helped the Under-19 team reach the quarter finals of the European Championship, having also played in the Under-20 World Cup, in 2017, with Portugal being eliminated in the quarter finals.
