Attacker

The hurricane of the XXI century

He has the same name as a star that played for FC Porto in the 1950s and 1960s. Hernâni Ferreira da Silva, the “hurricane of Águeda”, one of the most complete players in the history of Portuguese football, that made the best out of physical prowess and aggression, rare at the time, and added to that speed, accurate passes and a deadly shot. A leftie, but equally skilled with his right foot, Hernâni Fortes has the same speed as the legend from the past, and adds his own features that make him one of the biggest promises in Portuguese football: extremely strong in one on ones, with skill and above average shooting capability.

Hernâni arrived at FC Porto in the winter of 2015, as a rough diamond ready to be carved at the white and blue talent factory, following a truly rising star career. His first steps in football weren’t as fast as the way he dribbles his opponents. After being released from Cova da Piedade, still at young age, he became one of the future assets at Atlético as a junior, getting called to the main squad every once in a while. After being loaned to Mirandela, he settled in Estádio da Tapadinha, where he quickly became one of the references of the team.

Not surprisingly, Hernâni was hired by Vitória de Guimarães, where he started playing in the B team and remained for one and a half seasons. He scored nine goals, and earned a spot in the main team in 2014/15, with two goals scored in a dream debut. After half a season at Estádio do Dragão, he was loaned to Olympiacos in 2015/16 (26 matches and eight goals), and to Vitória de Guimarães in 2016/17, for a successful return (35 matches and 12 goals). In this second life at FC Porto, the story of Hernâni has everything to turn into a happy ending.
