Blue and white players believe the triumph over Boavista (2-1) could have been bigger
FC Porto beat Boavista (2-1), at Estádio do Dragão, this Sunday, for matchday 33 of the League. After the derby at Porto was decided in the stoppage time, Zé Pedro, Francisco Conceição and Mehdi Taremi, three key players in the blue and white turnaround, were unanimous in stating that the victory of the blue and whites should have been by bigger numbers, as the result is short for the superiority shown on the pitch.
Zé Pedro
“I am very happy for my goal and for helping the team win this game. Despite being so close to the end, it’s a fair victory and we should have scored more. We believed until the end and deserved to win.”
Francisco Conceição
“We got into the game well, wanting to control it, but unfortunately we couldn't score and the game dragged on. The victory is entirely fair, but it is a pity that we suffered so much for it. We deserved to score two, three or four more goals, but the victory is fair.”
Mehdi Taremi
“It's an emotional moment for me as it was my last game at Estádio do Dragão. On and off the pitch, I will always be a fan of FC Porto. I have always given my best for the club and today's goal was a fantastic moment for me. We won the derby and I'm very happy to have helped the team with my goal. I will always respect the fans and be a super Dragon as I have always been. It's an honour to be one of the best scorers in the history of Estádio do Dragão.”
