Faithful to our legacy, but with the modern features needed for a national champion. Today, together with New Balance, FC Porto unveils the new 2018/19 home kit, which marks the 125th anniversary in the club’s history and celebrates FC Porto winning the 2017/18 Primeira Liga title.
With the champion badge again included, the home kit maintains the lines that have guided it since 1909: the FC Porto Blue and the White, with vertical stripes. The kit has been engineered using innovative NB DRY technology. The Jersey wicks moisture away from the skin to help keep players fresh and dry from first to final whistle and, also, features top shoulder bonded tape, full colour embroidered crest and a button shawl flat knit collar.
As part of the “Born For Success” campaign, the FC Porto Blue shorts completes the look and, of course, the blue socks, which feature an elasticated ankle zone and rib Achilles region with cushioned protection. An additional cushioned heel zone and vented cushioned footbed and toe section have been designed to help players play with power, comfort and extra support.
The goalkeeper kit has been engineered in line with the outfield players’ jerseys, but is Black with Frost Grey pattered sleeves. The kit is completed with Black shorts and socks, with a Frost Grey cuff to the lower sock.
The new home kit has already convinced FC Porto’s captain Héctor Herrera: “We’re very proud of the successes this season but we’re already looking ahead to next season and what we can achieve. The new home kit feels great and will allow us to concentrate on the game, which is most important. We can’t wait to see the supporters in blue and white when cheering the team on!”
General Manager of New Balance Football, Kenny McCallum also stated: “It’s been a fantastic season for FC Porto, and we’re delighted to celebrate this moment and an iconic anniversary year with this new home kit. This kit blends modern design and rich heritage which embodies FC Porto. It has been engineered to support the players to achieve great things on the pitch. We look forward to another exciting season with the club.”
