André André and the League Cup: “It's a title we want”

Midfielder admitted to relaxation after the 2-0, but the second-half in Paços de Ferreira was controlled by the Dragons

After a 3-2 victory in Paços de Ferreira, this Saturday evening, FC Porto has qualified to the semi-finals of the League Cup, and the next opponent is already determined to be Sporting, on January 24, in Braga. Talking after the match, André André admitted the team was more concerned with the result than with the performance, which the midfielder was straight forward in analysing, admitting there were mistakes in the first-half.

The match analysis
“Above all, we wanted to win. We played very well in the match, we scored the first and the second, we could have scored the third. Then we relaxed a bit, lacked aggression. Paços de Ferreira scored a goal, started to grow and then tied the match. For the second-half, we went in really well and I think we controlled the match.”

League Cup is an objective
“All competitions are essential. In other years, maybe the first match didn’t go well and then everything was more complicated. We know it's another title we want and, fortunately, we're in the final four.”

The absence of Danilo
“Our squad has already shown that, no matter who plays, does the job well. Next week, Danilo will be in the team and the squad already knows that whoever plays will be well.”

The final four
“We think match by match. First, we are going to think of the semi-final against Sporting and then see what the final will be.”
