Marcano: “It will be a balanced round”

Spanish central defender recovered and is an option for the match against Liverpool (Wednesday, 19h45)

On the same day he returned to training without limitations, Marcano sat next to Sérgio Conceição at the press conference that previewed the home match against Liverpool, scheduled for Wednesday (19h45), at Estádio do Dragão, for the first leg of the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The Spanish central defender admitted he is “prepared” to play if the coach decides it and assured that no one will destroy the ambition of the Dragons in winning this round and move forward in this very special competition.

Ready and prepared
“I'm prepared for the match, but it's up to the coach to decide on who plays. I'm physically fit and at no time did I think I wouldn’t be able to play this match. I always want to play.”

A team that counts as a whole
“I don’t really like to individualize. Liverpool is a complete team that does things well and is going through a good momentum. They haven’t lost any match in the Champions League so far and they want to move forward, but so do we. I think it's going to be a balanced round.”

Stay in the competition
“This is a different competition. Liverpool has a great attack, but we have already shown that we also have a great team. Our motivation is to go as far as possible in the Champions League, the most important club competition in Europe and in the World.”

The absences of Felipe, Danilo and Aboubakar
“We are not fragile. This team has already shown that, whoever plays, plays well.”

A matter of ambition
“The national title is very important, but this competition is the biggest in terms of clubs and we hope to go as far as possible. That ambition no one can take away from us.”
