The tradition of raising the flag has been kept

The celebration of the 124th anniversary of FC Porto continues at the Museum, also celebrating its birthday

As traditionally happens, the FC Porto flag flew in the sky, on the day the club celebrates 124 years. This Thursday morning, shortly after 10h00, the usual raising of the flag was celebrated, carried by the students of the Dragon Force schools, and then raised by Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, the chairman of the club, by José Manuel de Matos Fernandes, president of the General Meeting board, and by Jorge Carvalho Guimarães, vice-president of the Audit and Disciplinary Board.

The ceremony, which was accompanied by the sound of a string quartet, Invictus, directed by maestro Artur Guimarães, counted on other members of the governing bodies and of the board of directors, along with a number of workers and co-operators of the club. After the ceremony, the chairman of the Dragons talked to Porto Canal, stating that “these are 124 years of glory, with a great responsibility of representing the city”.

The day started with the homages to José Maria Pedroto, Rui Filipe and Pavão, with the usual wreath being offered, at the 3- floor of Estádio do Dragão, just before 10h00. During the rest of the day, there were several events held at the Museum, which the members can access at discounted prices – check the full schedule here.
