Three blue and white goals in the World Cup final

Hélder Nunes and Gonçalo Alves scored for Portugal, but Spain won in penalty shootout (5-4)


Hélder Nunes, with two goals, and Gonçalo Alves scored the Portuguese goals in the final of the World Cup in roller hockey, but Spain ended up winning in penalty shootout (2-1), after the 3-3 tie by the end of the regular 50 minutes. Argentina, for whom Reinaldo Garcia played, was third, after beating Italy 4-2, also this Saturday, in the event played in Nanjing, China.

The blue and white captain scored 27 and 50 minutes in, following a free hit given with four seconds left on the clock, which allowed Portugal to force the extra time. Before that, though, his teammate Gonçalo Alves had tied the match 2-2, 30 minutes in, after Spain reached the halftime winning 2-0 - the Spanish goals in the match were scored by Albert Casanovas (20), Jordi Adroher (24) and Eduard Lamas (40).

In the penalty shootout, Portugal was ahead, thanks to João Rodrigues, but Lamas and Casanovas scored the last two penalties and gave the 17th title to Spain. Portugal, who also counted on Dragons Rafa and Nélson Filipe, is at 15.
