Keeping the tone on the return home

FC Porto faces Tondela at home, this Friday (20h30), aiming at the best winning streak of the season

Matchday 22 of the Liga NOS starts at Estádio do Dragão, with FC Porto facing Tondela, aiming at the sixth consecutive victory and at the lead of the table, which is just one point away. This Friday’s match will be refereed by Luís Ferreira, starting at 20:30. Before that, an hour earlier, Porto Canal will do a preview of the match, which can then be followed live on Facebook and Twitter and on the official app. After the final whistle, the game will be reviewed by Porto Canal and www.fcporto.pt will have the usual report and statements from the coach and players.

After the victory in Guimarães (2-0), the Dragons are returning home, where they haven’t lost for 292 days – the last defeat was in April 2016, against Sporting – and where, this season, for the championship, they conceded only two points in 11 games. It is, therefore, in the comfort of their own home that the blue and whites are aiming at the best winning streak of the season, which, as Nuno Espírito Santo stated in press conference, will allow for added pressure on Benfica, current leader of the League, as the Reds only play on Sunday, at the home of Sporting de Braga.

Both teams arrive at this game tied in terms of past results – a victory for each side, a tie, conceded in the first turn of the season (0-0), and one goal scored – but are at highly distinct moments in the season. Tondela, last in the table, has only one victory and one draw in the last seven games and they are the only team in the league that has yet to win any match away, having scored only six goals in those matches.
