Saidy signs until 2022

Swiss right fullback signed for four seasons

Saidy joined FC Porto. The young Swiss international signed for four seasons, until June 30, 2022.

“I’m blessed, as this is a great opportunity for me and I’m happy to be here. FC Porto is a great club, I’m honoured to be here and to wear this blue and white jersey is a dream come true”, the defender stated, talking to and to Porto Canal, on his first statement as a Dragon.

The 22 years old right fullback started being noticed at FC Zurich and Manchester United kept an eye on him. In 2013, he moved to England, at just 17 years old, and was named Reserve Player of the Year by the end of his first season. In August 2014, the young Swiss player did his debut for the main team of Man. United.

Under-21 international for Switzerland, the new Dragon was then loaned to Bolton, later signing for Celtic, in 2015, helping win two championships and one Scottish Cup. Saidy Janko played in the UEFA Champions League and in the Europa League for the Scottish club.

After being loaned to Barnsley, the right fullback signed for Saint-Étienne at the start of last season, playing 21 matches in Ligue 1, in France. FC Porto is next.

“I’m a player with physical capacity and fast on the wing. That is my style of play”, Saidy added, introducing himself.
