Defence of the title starts at home against Chaves

Dragons play the first classic at Estádio da Luz, on matchday seven. For matchday 17, they play in Alvalade

The draw of the 2018/19 of Liga NOS, held tonight at the auditorium of the Convent of São Francisco, in Coimbra, determined that FC Porto will start defending the title of national champion at home, at Estádio do Dragão, facing Desportivo de Chaves. The first matchday is scheduled for August 12.

The first classic of the season has Estádio da Luz as setting. The Dragons will face Benfica for matchday seven, scheduled for October 7, facing the Reds again in the second turn of the championship, for matchday 24 (March 3).

Still in the first turn, FC Porto will go back to Lisbon to play the second classic, against Sporting. The match at Estádio de Alvalade, for matchday 17, is scheduled for January 17, and the match at Estádio do Dragão will be matchday 34, the last of the competition (May 19).

As for FC Porto B and the Second League, the draw determined that the blue and whites will start the competition in Cascais, to face Estoril.

During the ceremony, the winners of awards from last season were also revealed, and seven Dragons were distinguished. Sérgio Conceição was named best coach, Alex Telles, Felipe, Herrera, Marega and former blue and white Ricardo are in the ideal team, and Iker Casillas won the fair-play award.
