Between July 2 and 8, Dragão Caixa will host the World Cup 3-Cushion, counting for the world ranking. The competition, free to attend, will count on 215 players, coming from 21 countries (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Greece, Turkey, Belgium, Netherlands, South Korea, Egypt, Japan, Vietnam, USA, Peru, and Colombia).
The World Cup in Porto is the 4th competition in the World circuit this year. Frédéric Caudron (Antalaya, Turkey), Tran Quyet Chien (Ho Chi Minhn, Vietman) and Dick Jaspers (Blankenberg, Belgium) won their previous rounds. The blue and white player beat Eddy Merckx, on June 16, assuring the victory in the Belgium stage.
Before the start of the World Cup, Dragão Caixa will be the stage of the national qualifications, between June 28 and July 1. The world qualifications star on July 2, and the final board will compete between July 7 and 8.
The Top5 of the World Ranking will be in the competition: Frédéric Caudron (Belgium), Eddy Mercx (Belgium), Marco Zanetti (Italy), Kin Heang Jik (South Korea) and Dick Jaspers (Netherlands). Dick Jaspers and Torbjorn Blomdahl, two Dragons, won the World Cup in Porto in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Frédéric Caudron (2016) and Kim Jik (2017) won the most recent stages at Porto.
