Danilo: “The most important match is always the next one”

Blue and white midfielder did the preview of matchday 12 of Liga NOS, against Desportivo das Aves

After the tie in Istanbul, against Besiktas (1-1), which keeps FC Porto in the fight for the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League, the blue and white players will again focus on Liga NOS, for matchday 12, which has a trip to Vila das Aves. Talking to the newspaper “O Jogo”, in a sort of preview of the match scheduled for Saturday (20h30), Danilo Pereira guaranteed complete focus, even if the near future has the classic against Benfica (December 1, 20h30). Here are the most important statements in the interview.

Difficult match, but one to win
“I expect a difficult match, but, above all, I expect another victory for FC Porto. We tied in Turkey and now we only think of returning to victories in the next match. This is what the club lives for, for victories. We want to stay ahead and keep the winning streak in the Championship.”

Get to the classic with one more victory
“The most important match is always the next one. The match against Desportivo das Aves is the only one we have in mind. And we obviously want to get to the classic after another victory.”

Accumulated fatigue?
“We've had tough matches in a short amount of time and we've had good performances. It all depends on us, the way we go in, and our belief, but we're feeling well. We do a great job of recovery and the team has responded very well.”

The usual difficulties
“There are no easy matches in the Championship, and no one wins by anticipation. We look at Desportivo das Aves as a difficult opponent and we know we will play in a difficult stadium, but we are prepared.”

Blue sea
“The fans have been tireless and are always present. We want it to be like this, that they are always with us, in the good and bad times, because we will give everything for them on the patch. We know we will have a lot of support at Vila das Aves and we want to return this support with a victory.”

An impressive start in the championship
“The belief and the will that the coach has given us from the start has been fundamental. It has always made us believe that we are a strong team and that it will always be difficult for any opponent to beat us. We are strong and united.”
