Brahimi: “It's important to end the year in the lead”

Winger considered that the team should be congratulated for the work done in the match against Marítimo (3-1)

Yacine Brahimi returned to the starting team as FC Porto defeated Marítimo 3-1 on Monday and resumed the lead of Liga NOS. The Algerian winger, who scored two assists for Marega’s goals, considered that the team did “a good job” and achieved “an important victory”, as it allows to end the year in the lead of the table, along with Sporting. “We will keep working like this”, the number eight of the blue and whites assured.

The good reaction to the tie
“We knew we were going to face a very good team, that defends very well. We managed to score early, we conceded a goal right after, but we reacted well, reaching the second and managing to score a third goal, which was important against a team that plays closed in the back.”

Playing against ten
“We knew we had to be patient playing against ten men, from one moment to the next, there are always spaces left behind and I think we did well in that regard. The team did a good job and got another good victory.”

The connection between the forwards
“We are feeling well. We get along well, on and off the pitch. We have to keep working to stay like this.”

The first place
“It's important to finish the year in the lead, but we still have a lot of championship to play for and we will work to continue like this.”
