The goal scored by Diego Reyes in a header, 19 minutes into the match FC Porto-Marítimo (3-1), on Monday, which can be seen below, not only set the path for the victory against the team from Madeira, it also represented the goal number 700 scored by the blue and whites in official matches at Estádio do Dragão. With the two goals that followed by Marega, there are already 702 goals celebrated at the stadium.
It was also the first goal scored by the Mexican defender for the Dragons. Reyes made his debut for FC Porto on October 19, 2013, in a 1-0 victory over Trofense, for the Portuguese Cup. He was out on a loan for two seasons, to the Spanish team Real Sociedad and Espanyol, but he is up to 35 official matches for the blue and whites.
Reyes joins other historical names in terms of goals scored at Estádio do Dragão, in official matches: Maniche was the one scoring the first (2-0 to União de Leiria, February 7, 2004), Quaresma the 100th (2-0 to Boavista on December 2, 2006), Bruno Alves the 200th (1-0 to Nacional on May 10, 2009), Otamendi the 300th (3-1 to CSKA Sofia, December 15, 2010), James Rodríguez the 400th (2-0 to Sporting, October 7, 2012), Jackson Martinez the 500th (2-0 to Marítimo, August 15, 2014) and Herrera the 600th (4-0 to Nacional, on April 17, 2016).
The scoreboard continues to spin towards goal 800 and has picked up the pace at Estádio do Dragão: in about half a season, the Dragons already scored 42 goals, the same number as in the entire 2015/16 season and only 11 goals below what was achieved in 2016/17. The maximum was reached in 2010/11: 80 goals.
