Four years later, FC Porto again brought a gala to Coliseu do Porto, to distinguish athletes, coaches, managers, associates, and overall fans that stood out in 2015/16. It was an evening that took the Constellation of the Dragon, the theme of the season, to the most beautiful room of the city Porto, almost 75 years old. It was, therefore, a night full of stars, with the brightest of them all being the 16 awarded Dragons, called, one by one, as tradition, to a stage painted in celestial blue to receive the statue designed by Celestino Machado and José Moreira, aiming at symbolizing the continuous rise of FC Porto.
Personalities of the past were reminded, such as Luís César, former Technical Secretary of senior football (Homage of the Year); the same for personalities from the present, especially football players Danilo (Footballer of the Year) and André Silva (Revelation of the Year), national basketball champion Brad Tinsley (High Competition Athlete of the Year), cyclist Rui Vinhas, winner of the Portugal Tour (Athlete of the Year); and also athletes that promise to make a name for themselves in the future, such as boxer Sara Pinto (Young Athlete of the Year).
In this list, other statues awarded also need to be mentioned, such as the one given to team W52-FC Porto-Porto Canal (Project of the Year), who brought back the sport of cycling to the blue and white universe; or the one given to Luís Castro (Coach of the Year), who, last season, led FC Porto B to the victory over the Second League; and also former hockey player Vítor Hugo (Manager of the Year), taking home his second Golden Dragon, now as director of the Basketball section.
In one of the highest moments in the annual calendar of the club, there was also room for humour, by the hand of Marionetas, João Pinto Costa and Tito Pinto, Óscar Branco and Joana Marques, who made the audience burst in laughter. And there was also time for music, from the voice of Alberto Índio, who made a point of performing with the blue and white jersey, Sofia Escobar, Deolinda, Aurea, Pedro Abrunhosa and Nuno Norte.
The gala, which lasted two and a half hours, was hosted by many familiar faces from Porto Canal, one of which General Director Júlio Magalhães, and had the presence of many personalities from several sectors in national life. Among them, highlights for those who hande Golden Dragons, such as the president of the Federação Portuguesa de Futebol, Fernando Gomes, the president of the Liga Portugesa de Futebol, Pedro Proença, the mayor of Câmara Municipal do Porto, Rui Moreira, the mayor of Câmara Municipal de Vila Nova de Gaia and member of the Senior Council of FC Porto, Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues, the president of the Parliament Group of PSD, Luís Montenegro, and deputies of the Parliament Hugo Soares and Filipe Lobo D’Ávila.
