Danilo: “The goal is to win the Cup”

Blue and white midfielder scored the second goal for FC Porto against Vitória de Guimarães (4-0) for the Portuguese Cup

Danilo started by fighting with the posts, which he hit twice in the first-half, but, in the second-half, he scored the second of the four goals that allowed FC Porto to beat Vitória de Guimarães (4- 0) for the Portuguese Cup. And it “could have been more”, the midfielder stated, even if it was enough for the blue and whites to move on and keep dreaming of the final and the victory at Estádio do Jamor, one of the great goals of the season, as the Portuguese international star admitted.

Match analysis
“After we scored, we calmed down in the match, we managed to control the first-half and we didn’t score more goals because the opponent also pushed us. In the second-half, we ended up scoring more and killing the match. We've got a lot of players between the lines and exploring those spaces. We scored three goals, but it could have been more.”

Jamor is the objective
“Our goal is to go to Jamor and win the Cup. I didn’t celebrate the goal because I wasn’t pleased at the moment, but a goal is always a goal and I'm happy.”

Room for all
“We have a short squad, but full of quality, any of us can be in the starting team. André André went in and had a good performance, with two goals, so we have to manage each player’s fatigue. I feel well, I can contribute in the attack and on the defence and I will always do so. Clearly we have been improving in the midfield, Hector and I have been well, with good connection and we have to stay like this.”
