Felipe already thinking of Monaco

The man who scored the blue and white goal admits that tie is positive for the objective of reaching the round of 16

Facing a “big team” in an “impressive stadium”, Felipe had no doubts in considering the 1-1 tie between FC Porto and Besiktas, for matchday 5 of Group G of the UEFA Champions League, a a good result. And the reason for that is that the qualification is now in the hands of the Dragons, who will face Monaco a Estádio do Dragão for the last matchday. That is where, according to Felipe, the key to the much-desired Round of 16 is.

The strategy for the match
“We knew that playing here, in front of these supporters, who are always pushing the team, we could gain some advantage if we scored in the first 15 minutes. We didn’t then, but we go it a bit later. After that, we stopped creating plays and that was our mistake.”

The stadium and the setting
“This is a good result, against a great team, in an impressive stadium with a very passionate audience. It’s difficult for us to communicate, but for them it’s the same.”

The qualification up for grabs
“It's up to us now. We will face Monaco at home and that’s the key match for us.”
