FC Porto tied this Saturday against Desportivo das Aves (1-1) in matchday 12 of Liga NOS, but, regardless of what happens, will remain in the lead the Championship. At the end of the match, Ricardo, the scorer for the Dragons (6m), admitted that the red card shown to Corona at the start of the second-half made everything “more difficult”, but still praised the way the team dealt with being down to ten men.
“We went in well and were fortunate enough to score an early goal. From there, Desportivo das Aves caused us problems in some attacks, but we held on until the break. In the second-half, everything became more difficult with the sending-off, but we did everything to get the three points.”
The difficulties of playing down to ten
“Playing in numerical inferiority is always more difficult and forces us to run more. We gave everything we had to win this match, but, unfortunately, we couldn’t.”
Eager for the classic against Benfica
“We will continue in the lead no matter what happens, and, next Friday, we have another match to win.”
