Danilo: “What matters is the team”

Midfielder admitted he enjoyed scoring on 100th match for FC Porto, but praised the team

Danilo played his 100th match with the blue and white jersey this Wednesday against Leipzig for the UEFA Champions League (3-1). Despite having scored a goal, the commander - title he earned playing for the Portuguese selection – chose to praise the team and admitted that the blue and whites learned with the defeat in Germany.

The goal
“I wanted to win, but luckily I also scored in my 100th match. What matters is the club and the team, we reached our goal and that's what matters the most.”

The match analysis
“In Germany I think we were too open to their game. This time, we were more cohesive, as I said in the preview; we didn’t give them space in the centre and we ended up dominating. We reacted well to the goal, in a quick move we didn’t expect, but we didn’t lose composure and went looking for the second.”

The situation in the group
“We're second, that's what we wanted for this match. We have a match at home and one away, we have to win the one at home and get the best possible result against Besiktas away.”
