Lusitano de Évora is the opponent in the Portuguese Cup

The third round of the competition is scheduled for the weekend of October 14 and 15


FC Porto will be facing Lusitano de Évora for the third elimination round of the 78th Edition of the Portuguese Cup, as determined by the draw held this afternoon, at the City of Football, in Oeiras. The match is scheduled for the weekend of October 14 and 15.

Created in 1011, Lusitano de Évora is an historic team of Portuguese football, having competed in the main division from 14 straight seasons, in the 1950s and the 1960s. The best classification they achieved was a fifth place, and the team even reached the semi-finals of the Portuguese Cup. Now, they play in the main division of the Associação de Futebol de Évora, having ended last season in the fourth position.

History shows 35 official matches between FC Porto and Lusitano, seven of which for the Portuguese Cup: for this competition, the blue and whites won four, lost two and conceded one tie. The last time both teams faced each other was over 51 years ago, at Estádio das Antas, in a match that ended with the blue and whites winning 2-0, for the 1965/66 National Championship of the 1st Division.
