FC Porto will be receiving Portimonense at home in the Round of 32 of the Portuguese Cup, according to the draw held earlier this Thursday in the City of Football, in Oeiras. The match is officially scheduled for November 19.
After facing each other at Estádio do Dragão, for matchday seven of the current edition of the Portuguese League (5-2), the two teams will cross paths again, now for the Portuguese Cup, which has happened twice in the history of the competition, curiously both for the round of 32 and at the home of FC Porto. The first happened in the distant time of 1955/56 and ended with a beating from the blue and whites, 13-1; the second came in 1984/85 and the score was 2-0, also favourable to the Dragons.
“It is a well-known team, with excellent players, a coach that already made a name for himself, playing good football and showing ambition. We know that our players will have to be at their best to get to the next round”, stated Fernando Gomes, the representative of FC Porto in the draw.
