Spanish midfielder is aiming at a strong pre-season to fight for the national title

Óliver Torres is 24 years old and is going on his fifth season playing for FC Porto, which means he is one of the most experienced players in the blue and whites. Talking to Porto Canal, the Spanish midfielder admitted he missed Olival, aimed at a strong pre-season and set the foundations for an attack to the title.

The return to work
“We missed being here, we miss football during vacations. We want to start well, train with dedication, focus on our strengths, welcome the new teammates and have a great pre-season, as that’s very important for a good season.”

The experience at FC Porto
“The new, the experienced, the veterans, we are all on the same level, starting with Pepe, who is always saying he is here to help, to learn and to improve. That has to be the example, not just for the newcomers, but for all of us.”

The objective for 2019/20
“We are all here with the same objective, to take our place, which is the lead. We work with the ambition and the hope of winning the title.”

The spirit for the season
“The confidence and the spirit always have to be the best. FC Porto will be fighting for every title, we will have a competitive team and we need to focus on that, on carrying to the pitch what the coach tells us. With that spirit, with the help of the fans, we will win many titles again.”

Unite to win again
“When you talk of FC Porto, you talk of becoming champion. When that doesn’t happen, you have to quickly take back what’s yours. Not just the championship. We will unite to win again.”
