Soares, Fábio Silva and Pepe talked of the deserved victory over Young Boys (2-1)

Soares, Fábio Silva and Pepe talked of how FC Porto deserved to beat Young Boys (2-1), for matchday one of Group G of Europa League. Soares scored both goals for the blue and whites, which stopped the opponent’s reaction.

Soares
“It was a difficult match, against a tough opponent, but, like we always say, at home we really have to do our job. I think we played a great match and we earned the three points. The opponent was physically strong, but we did well and now we need to think of the next match. I’m happy to be in the starting team again, our coach always made clear that everyone is important and part of the team, and I work as always. Be it on the pitch or on the stands, I always want to help my teammates.”

Fábio Silva
“I want to thank the opportunity of being in the history of the club, as the youngest player ever in European competitions. It’s always good to achieve something, especially as this is the club I love and where I feel well. I want to thank everyone that made this possible. We prepared for this match well, we went in with our usual soul and we played a good match. I feel I did my job and helped the team, so I am very happy. I learn every day with my teammates and the coaches.”

Pepe
“Starting with a victory in a competition like this is always important. We knew they are very strong in direct plays, the coach warned us about it, so we were prepared. It was a good match. We have to win when we play at home, especially for European competitions. We are in a good winning streak and we want to continue like that.”
