Great goal from the left fullback made the difference at Estádio do Bessa, and gave the victory to FC Porto (1-0) for matchday 11 of Liga NOS

This Sunday, FC Porto beat Boavista Away (1-0), for matchday 11 of Liga NOS. Alex Telles (9m) scored the goal for the blue and whites, who are second in the table, with 28 points, two behind Benfica.

Pushed by the thousands of fans who did the short trip to Estádio do Bessa, FC Porto went in at full speed and only needed nine minutes to celebrate: after Boavista failed to clear the ball from the defence, Alex Telles put the ball on his eft foot and shot from outside the area, not giving Bracali any chances and opening the scoreboard with a great goal, the third in the championship.

Shortly after, Fábio Silva was in good position to get the cross from Wilson Manafá, but the shot didn’t go where he intended (13m). The Dragons posed more danger, with Marcano heading just outside the post, just a few centimetres away from increasing the lead (24m). In reply, on the first time Boavista truly reached the blue and white goal, the home team almost tied, thanks to former Dragon Ricardo Costa (27m).

The second-half was played more in the midfield, but, following a corner-kick taken by Alex Telles, Loum barely missed the goal as he headed the ball outside the post, with Bracali powerless to do anything (71m). Close to the end, Zé Luís almost made the best of a mistake from the opposing defence, but the shot with the right foot hit the post, denying the chance to kill the match (89m). FC Porto still assured the victory in the derby and won three important points.
