19 years old midfielder debuted for the main squad of FC Porto in the victory over Varzim (2-1), in the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup

It was a night that Vítor Ferreira will never forget. This Tuesday, against Varzim (2-1) in the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup, the 19 years old midfielder debuted for the main squad of FC Porto, at Estádio do Dragão. As for Iván Marcano, who wore the captain armband and scored the second goal for the Dragons, what matters is that the team qualified to the semi-finals of the competition.

Marcano
“The objective was to qualify to the semi-finals and we did it. We started strong and scored first, but they tied in a direct free-kick and we lost focus after that, but Varzim had merit in that. My goal came from a set piece. This is something we work on every week and, fortunately, we were able to score. We have no preference for the semi-finals and we are already thinking of Braga.”

Vítor Ferreira
“As you can imagine, this is a dream come true. When I renewed my contract with FC Porto, I stated this was the beginning of a dream and that is the reality. I am thankful to be here. It sounds like a cliché, but I worked hard to experience this and I won’t stop working to keep deserving these opportunities. Like I told the squad when I got here, I’m here to help. We all have our qualities and we are stronger together. We knew Varzim was coming to Estádio do Dragão to make our life difficult, and they did play a good match. We had to rise to the challenge and that’s what we did for 90 minutes. We scored two goals and were the best team on the pitch. We are in the semi-finals and we are only thinking of the next match, against Braga.”
