FC Porto was winning in Alvalade until minute 87, but left Lisbon with just one point

This Saturday, FC Porto tied against Sporting (2-2), at Estádio de Alvalade, for matchday four of Liga NOS. The national champions were losing nine minutes in, but Matheus Uribe (25m) and Tecatito Corona (45m) turned the score around in the first-half. In the second-half, close to the end, Vietto made it 2-2 (87m).

FC Porto started the classic on top: before the first minute was over, Sérgio Oliveira put Adán to the test, in a cunning free-kick, but Sporting’s response was swift. Matheus Nunes came alone in front of Marchesín and the Argentinian goalkeeper prevented the midfielder from scoring with a fantastic save (8m). On the following play, Nuno Santos got to a bad clear from Mbemba and made it count in a volley, surprising Marchesín (9m). Losing, the national champions increased the pressure and almost tied with Matheus Uribe (13 m) and Luis Díaz (22 m).

In one of the many runs towards the opponent’s goal, Zaidu crossed perfectly for Matheus Uribe to score, with his left foot, in a volley, giving no chances to the goalkeeper (25m). And, after Marchesín did a great save to a shot from Pedro Gonçalves (44m), the turnaround came: Luis Díaz went inside the area and the ball ended up with Corona, who dribbled Pedro Porro and Feddal and placed a perfect lob in front of Adán. The genius of the winger was enough to make it 2-1 before the break (45m).

In stoppage time of the first-half, Luís Godinho signalled a penalty on Zaidu over Pedro Gonçalves and sent the fullback off with a second yellow card, but the VAR did his job and asked the referee from Évora to look at the footages. As a result, the penalty was disallowed and so was the red card shown to Zaidu. The se wasn’t as exciting as the first, with more fighting than football, but luck would go to Sporting close to minute 90. Pedro Gonçalves passed to Sporar, who had his shot saved by Marchesín, but the ball ended up in Vietto, who made it 22- (87m).
