FC Porto beat Famalicão 3-1 at Estádio do Dragão in matchday 19 of the League
After what had happened the previous night in Lisbon, the victory was the only acceptable result at Estádio do Dragão. And so it was, with Otávio, Luis Díaz and Taremi scoring the three goals that give FC Porto an advantage of six points over the second team in the table.
After the minute of silence respected by everyone at Estádio do Dragão before the kick-off, there could be no better tribute to a symbol of FC Porto as Lima Pereira is and always will be, than a blue and white victory. A victory that started 25 minutes in, curiously enough scored by number 25, Otávio. Fábio Vieira took the corner-kick on the left to the edge of the area and the blue and white captain volleyed the shot, beating Júnior for the first time in the match.
The second goal could have come two minutes later, when Fábio Vieira, on the left, passed back to Luis Díaz, who, in the heart of the area, shot over the goal. The blue and whites controlled the match and, after Evanilson failed to score on minute 36, after dribbling the ball to the small area, on minute 37 Luis Díaz added his name to the scoreboard: Otávio, inspired, found the Colombian winger, who, face to face with Júnior, made it count, as usual. In the last seconds of the first-half, Otávio was tackled in the area in an individual play and referee Rui Costa signalled the penalty kick, but, after checking the footage, called by the VAR, he corrected the decision and ended the first-half.
Famalicão returned for the second-half determined to change the match, but the only scare experienced at the stands came 67 minutes in, when Fábio Cardoso fell helplessly after a head-butt. Promptly assisted, the central defender returned to the match on his own foot. Mehdi Taremi, recently sent in, shook the match and, after failing to score 73 minutes in, was tackled in the area in the next play and scored the penalty that was promptly given by the referee. Close to the end of the match, Uribe was sent-off for a hard tackle on an opponent and Famalicão scored in stoppage time.
