The victory of the Dragons over Famalicão had a special dedication from Otávio to one of the greatest in the blue and white history

FC Porto is in the lead of the championship six points ahead of the second in the table. This advantage was confirmed this Sunday, after a victory at home over Famalicão (3-1). After matchday 19, Otávio described it as “a good match”, which was “always under control” thanks to the “good teamwork”. “The second turn has just started, there’s still a lot of championship to play for. We have to work hard”, the captain warned, in conclusion.

Otávio, Liga Portugal MVP
“I want to dedicate this victory to Lima Pereira. He will always be part of this club, so my condolences to the whole family. We played a good match, always in control. Good teamwork, we suffered in the end, but that’s part of it. We have several stars, we play between the lines and in depth. In the first-half we somewhat lacked that, but we improved in the second-half. We conceded a goal from a set piece, which is one of our strengths. But we’ll see what we need to correct. The most important thing was getting the three points. Just as when we were second, behind Sporting, we keep working match by match. We’re going to rest now, focus on the next match and win three more points. The second turn has just started, there’s a lot of championship to play for. We have to work hard.”

Bruno Costa, Porto Merit and Values
“This award is the result of a lot of hard work. I am very happy to have been able to help the team in such a difficult match as this one. We face every match eager to win the three points and we only think of that. We’re not thinking about the six points advantage, we’re thinking about the next match against Marítimo and about winning again. I felt very well today, I want to thank everyone for their support. It’s a pleasure to help the team. I had three situations where I could have scored, but what matters is the victory.”

Fábio Cardoso
“It’s a good victory. When we go in, we only think of giving our best and winning. We don’t think about the points, that’s for the end. It went very well, we went in strong, it was a shame we conceded a goal, but it was a good match and we are happy. The confidence we feel comes from our training and daily work. That’s what we will continue to do, already thinking about the next match. We knew what we had to do. We knew that Famalicão has good players, that they have been growing as a team. It was a difficult match, and it was up to us to make it easy. We kept the intensity, the seriousness and we got the three points. I feel well, the team received me very well. It was an easy adaptation, I’m growing every day and I’m going to take every opportunity I get.”
