Francisco Moura

The left fullback born in Braga took his first steps at the Lacatoni Academy, but soon joined his hometown club, to which he was linked for 15 years. He has played in all the levels of the Braga academy, made his debut for the Under18 and it took him just six months to be called up to the Under19. In 2018, in Finland, he was among the Portuguese juniors who beat Italy in the final (4-3) to become European Champions. This good moment continued in Braga's B team, before the young international was loaned to Académica de Coimbra and returned to Minho to join the senior squad. Carlos Carvalhal launched him on the second matchday of 2020/21, had him make his debut in the Europa League a month later and Francisco Moura began to make a name for himself in November, when he scored twice in just 13 minutes in Estádio da Luz to secure SC Braga's victory against Benfica (3-2). At the time, he described himself as ‘an explosive player’ who can ‘read the game well and realise the right moment to press or stay behind in position’, but an injury sustained on the following week would keep him out until the end of that season. Despite having played 42 games in 2021/22, he ended up going out on loan and directly contributing to six goals in his first 34 games in his new home, numbers that made Famalicão sign him permanently and play him in 36 games during the season that ended in the eighth place in the league. The fullback scored two goals and provided five assists in the last season. Named captain at the start of his third season, he played all matches on the left wing of the defensive quartet that didn't concede a goal until matchday 4, in Guimarães, and arrived at Estádio do Dragão with the title of Defender of the Month awarded by Liga Portugal.
