Gabri Veiga
Born in the metropolitan area of Vigo - more precisely in the municipality of Porriño, just 15 kilometres from the Portuguese border with Galicia -, Gabriel Veiga Novas began playing football in Celta's youth teams and made his debut for the B team at just 17 years of age. His debut for the first team came just three months later, in September 2020. The following seasons were spent between the youth teams and the senior squad of the club that trained him, for which he scored eleven goals and made four assists in a single Spanish League season. A leading figure at Celta Vigo and of the European Under-21 Championship finalist national team, the 1.85-metre midfielder quickly became one of the most sought-after young players of his generation and ended up moving to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia. A resident of Jeddah since August 2023, he scored twelve goals and made ten assists in 64 games under German coach Matthias Jaissle. In one of his last games, he beat Japan's Kawasaki Frontale (2-0) and became Asian Champion before moving to the Dragons.
