Otavio

It was in Rio de Janeiro, at the service of Flamengo, that Otavio Ataíde did practically all his training. For “Mengão”, he won five titles at youth level and, as a senior, helped the team lift the Carioca and Brasileirão championships. In 2022, the 1.88 metre left-footer arrived in Portugal, through Famalicão. Still on a loan, he was split between the Under23 and the first team in his first season, where he established himself permanently on the following season. In 2023/24, the central defender played 19 games for Famalicão and scored two goals before moving to FC Porto. His ability to win aerial duels, his speed and good passing were some of the skills that attracted the interest of the Dragons. He made 17 appearances in blue and white in his first season at Porto, assisted Galeno for the goal in the home victory against Arsenal on his European debut, and then Zé Pedro for the first goal in the comeback against Boavista, kept a clean sheet in seven games, won his first trophy in Portugal and earned a place at the club that he will continue to defend on the pitch.
