Samu Aghehowa
Son of Nigerian parents and native of Melilla, a Spanish enclave in North Africa, Samuel Omorodion Aghehowa moved to Seville during his childhood and began playing football in the AD Nervión schools before joining Granada. Always moving up the ladder, he scored 18 goals in 33 games for the B team of the “Nazaríes” and attracted the interest of a giant of the capital. Atletico Madrid paid a small fortune to sign him in the summer of 2023, loaned him to Alavés and the 193 centimetres, 90 kilograms striker continued to score in the Basque Country, with either goals and an assist in the 34 La Liga games he played. In ten months, between September 2023 and July 2024, the powerful forward made his debut in the under19, under21 and under23 Spanish national teams, in the service of which he rose to the highest place on the podium at the Paris Olympic Games. All of a sudden, Samu's career turned to gold and the Olympic champion became a Spanish international.
