Victor Froholdt

Victor Froholdt was born in February 2006 in the Danish capital and began playing football at Vallensbæk IF, a local club in the lower leagues, before moving to his hometown's biggest club at the age of 12. With his refined technique and unusual maturity, the versatile midfielder rose through the ranks at FC Copenhagen and the national teams, representing the U16, U17, U18 and U19 sides within a few months. In between, in September 2023, he made his debut for FC Copenhagen's first team on a memorable afternoon. Coming off the bench in the 57th minute, the 1.87-metre midfielder kept his cool and scored the eighth goal in a 9-0 win at IF Lyseng in the third round of the Danish Cup. The fans liked what they saw, and so did the coach, so Victor Froholdt began to be a regular presence among the seniors and made his league debut in November, this time against Randers FC, and again scoring. In March 2024, having just come of age, he was launched from the start in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 in Manchester, against City. From then on, he never lost his place, secured a starting spot and became a favourite of the Parken Stadium crowd in the excellent 2024/25 campaign, during which he played 53 games, scored six goals, assisted five others, won the Double and reached the knockout stage of the Conference League, eventually being eliminated by the winners Chelsea. His long-awaited debut for the senior national team took place in Lisbon on 23 March 2025. It was the decisive quarter-final match of the Nations League, and Denmark, with Victor Froholdt already in action, still forced extra time at Alvalade (5-2). The season would end with two national titles, the first of a short career, and the Danish League Young Player of the Year award.
