List was reduced to 11 players. Only Liverpool and FC Porto are represented twice

Yacine Brahimi and Vincent Aboubakar are still in the race for the African Player of the Year award. This Monday, the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) released a list that reduced the number of candidates to 11, after 30 players had been named on November 1, including another player, Moussa Marega. Liverpool and FC Porto are represented by two players, in this selection that was made with votes of members of the technical and development committee of CAF, the panel of media experts and independent consultants from media and television. The final decision will involve coaches and technical directors of the various federations and ten members of the panel of independent consultants from media and television. For the first time, the captains of the CAF national squads will also vote. The award will be handed at a gala scheduled for January 4 in Accra, capital of Ghana.
