Thanks to the 1-0 victory, the Dragons are leaders of the Portuguese League on condition Thanks to the goal scored by Aboubakar at the end of the first-half, FC Porto won 1-0 in Tondela, and is now the leader of the Portuguese League, on condition, with the same points as Sporting and Rio Ave (six), but with a better goal average. In a match that had a full house and a strong presence of blue and white fans, a hard-working and fighting Dragon assured an important triumph, the first one obtained in Estádio João Cardoso after the tie last season. That’s two victories in two matchdays (with the best attack and no goals conceded) and next Sunday the team returns to Estádio do Dragão, at 18h00, to face Moreirense. The first-half was hard, very hard, with Tondela closing well and aiming at counterattacking whenever possible. There were intense duels and it was a teeth bearing FC Porto that managed to reach halftime in the lead. The goal came from Aboubakar, on minute 37, after a missed shot from Alex Telles. It was a fair prize for the team that had complete dominance and that never had problems in the back. From the first-half, apart from a hand full of dangerous attacks from the Dragons, there is a questionable move between Ricardo Costa and Marega - and the main question is whether the touch of the former Dragon was inside or outside the area. Right at the start of the second-half, the question is the same: a clear tackle on Ricardo, but was it inside or outside the area? Despite the good reaction Tondela had, Porto continued to dominate and Aboubakar was close to scoring his second 62 minutes in, but he hit the post. Tondela wanted to keep reacting, but only posed the first real danger on minute 70, in a play save by Alex Telles. The Dragons were still closer to the second goal, which could have come five minutes later: Cláudio Ramos responded with an excellent save to a volley from Marega, who was in the starting team this time, replacing Soares, as he did during the match against Estoril, in the first matchday. At that point, the match was already in a different stage: in the last 20 minutes, the blue and whites were more concerned about keeping balance and maintaining an advantage that, from the looks of it, will be a difficult result to achieve on this pitch - the team from the district of Viseu won the last four matches at home for the league, under the command of Pepa. André André came on the pitch to replace Aboubakar, solving the concern Sérgio Conceição had about losing the midfield. The last opportunity for Tondela appeared on minute 88, with Wagner shooting and Casillas saving. The coach had already warned: FC Porto will win many matches by 1-0, with difficulties, but what matters the most are the three points: playing well is winning, Sérgio Conceição has spoken.
