“It’s a childhood dream”, the 23 years old striker stated

André Pereira renewed his contract linking him to FC Porto until 2021. The 23 years old striker played in the youth squads of the club and returned in January 2017 to play in the B team. He is now in the main squad.

After being part of the victory over the League and the Portuguese Supercup, André Pereira scored his first goal for the main team of the Dragons. This Tuesday, he signed another contract with the club in his heart.

As he went through the gallery at Estádio do Dragão, the striker looked at a special picture and talked of being at the opening of the stadium, in 2003, then as an anonymous blue and white fan, only 8 years old. André Pereira also remembers the matches he served as the ball boy, like in the match opposing FC Porto and Schalke04, when he was in the youth squads.

Childhood dream
“It’s a unique feeling, I’m happy to have renewed my contract with FC Porto. It’s a contract, but the emotional link will always be there. For me it’s a childhood dream. I am proud to be able to play for the club of my city, the club of my heart, and that’s what I want to keep doing.”

The path in the main squad
“It has been short, but intense, that’s what I usually say of my path in FC Porto. I hope it continues like this, intense, but longer and with many titles.”

On the first goal
“It was a goal I’d been looking for, after a good pre-season. That’s what we work for every day.”

Being at the opening
“I don’t remember much. I know I went with my dad. I remember the popcorn at halftime and that it was the debut for Messi, but little more. Still, it stayed with me forever.”
