Fabiano was the last player in the squad to officially become national champion in 2017/18

When he replaced Vaná on minute 79 in the match against Vitória de Guimarães (1-0), Fabiano was the last player in the squad to become national champion in 2017/18, but the truth is that the Brazilian goalkeeper was the only element in the group that had already won a championship as a Dragon, in 2012/13.

“All this is incredible. It was amazing. Everyone understood what the coach wanted to tell us and that was clear on the pitch. Everyone worked in the same direction”, Fabiano started by saying, talking exclusively to fcporto.pt, also explaining the feeling of celebrating in blue and white again.

“I am extremely happy to be a champion again for an extraordinary club as is FC Porto. More than that, the club deserves this joy. And so do the fans. We’ve been waiting for this for a long time and we all worked hard to become champions”, the Brazilian goalkeeper continued.

According to the number 40, “this victory belongs to everyone, as every player was important”. After leaving the trophy at the FC Porto Museum, along with the rest of the group, Fabiano was quick to praise the space: “The Museum is fantastic and brilliantly shows the great history FC Porto has”.

Until the end of May, fcporto.pt will be publishing statements from the players and coaches that helped FC Porto win the trophy of National Champions in 2017/18.
