Playing for FC Porto, Jesús Corona became champion for the first time
Jesús Corona joined FC Porto in the summer of 2015 and started showing why he came to the Dragons on his debut, on September 12 that same year, scoring two goals at the home of Arouca, helping in a 3-1 victory. Coming from the Dutch team Twente, the club that opened the doors to Europe, the winger reached interesting numbers in his debut season: 35 matches and eight goals.
Almost three years after arriving at Porto, Corona became champion for the first time in his career. “I was an unforgettable season. It was fantastic for all of us. We worked and fought hard to get to the end and celebrate with our fans, which long deserved this joy. FC Porto had to be champion again, and I am happy that I helped in this victory”, the Mexican international star stated, talking exclusively to fcporto.pt.
Champion for the first time, Jesús Corona doesn’t hesitate when it comes to dedicating the title in 2017/18. “I won my first Championship wearing the FC Porto jersey, so I will never forget this season. I dedicate the title to the group, our families, and our fans, who were incredible in the way they supported us from start to finish”, Tecatito continued, happy to see himself at the Museum: “I had visited the Museum before, and I knew it was amazing, but now it’s even more special to go there and see a trophy I helped win”.
Until the end of May, fcporto.pt will be publishing statements from the players and coaches that helped FC Porto win the trophy of National Champions in 2017/18.
